Performing a Show as Part of Improv Group on New Year's Eve
Dec. 31, 2017
Tonight on New Year's Eve, we had the first Improv performance in front of a live audience as our new group, The Major Misdemeanors, at Acting Up Network in Burbank, CA. (Or the M&Ms as we liked to call ourselves.)
For this performance, we created a new Improv form which we called 'Code of Conduct' and which was loosely based on the classic hero's journey. That gave a story structure to all of our scenes, which was very nice.
From their hearty response, we could tell the audience was enjoying themselves, which spurred us onward so that we too were having a great time. So it was a great success for us. One audience member even came up to me and said I was her favorite part. That made me feel extra good.
After which we all partied. After all it was New Year's Eve. And what better way to celebrate than with our audience who had come to support us and party with us.
